Joseph Van Oss, DDS

Dr. Joseph Van Oss is a dedicated dental professional who joined the Pure Smiles team in August 2024. Originally from a rural community in Ohio, Dr. Van Oss brings a deep commitment to providing high-quality dental care and promoting oral health education to underserved areas. His approach to dentistry is grounded in hard work, passion, and dedication, ensuring that every patient receives comprehensive and personalized care.

Dr. Van Oss earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University, where he developed a strong foundation in both clinical and academic excellence. During his time at Ohio State, he gained extensive experience in evaluating oral and dental health, performing various dental procedures, and designing effective treatment plans. Dr. Van Oss is well-versed in restorative dentistry, prophylactic care, and patient management, making him a valuable asset to the Pure Smiles team.
In addition to his clinical skills, Dr. Van Oss has demonstrated a commitment to leadership and community service. He actively participated in The Ohio State University’s dental admissions committee, where he played a key role in shaping the future of the dental profession by evaluating and mentoring aspiring dentists. He also contributed to the American Student Dental Association (ASDA) and the American Dental Association (ADA), staying updated on the latest advancements in dental practice and advocating for the dental profession.

Dr. Van Oss is passionate about making a positive impact in the community, particularly in rural areas where he feels there is a significant need for dental education and services. His dedication to service extends beyond the dental chair, as he is committed to giving back and enhancing the well-being of his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Van Oss enjoying the outdoors and spending time with family and friends]. His personal interests complement his professional dedication, allowing him to connect with his patients on a deeper level and create a welcoming environment at Pure Smiles.

Stephanie M. Ollom, D.D.S.

Dr. Stephanie Ollom grew up in Wauseon, Ohio and became interested in dentistry at a young age. This led her to attend the University of Cincinnati where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, followed by The Ohio State University where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery.

Prior to opening Pure Smiles, Dr. Stephanie wanted to serve her country. In 2012, she was commissioned as a lieutenant in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Dr. Stephanie completed the Great Lakes Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency, served overseas operating a remote dental clinic, and had the distinct honor of providing dental services to fellow service members and their families.

After completion of her service, Dr. Stephanie Ollom moved back to Ohio to join her husband, Dr. Chad Ollom. Together they have three sweet girls, Sloane, Sage, and Sofie. They love getting to spend time together as a family biking, running, and swimming.

Dr. Stephanie is committed to lifelong learning and the practice of dentistry. Over the years, she has obtained extensive training in CAD/CAM dentistry. Additionally, she recently completed a series on the study of Comprehensive Orthodontics and several courses at the world-renowned Kois Center.

Chad Ollom, D.D.S.

Dr. Chad Ollom grew up in Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where he earned his undergraduate as well as his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While in dental school, Dr. Chad gained interest in surgical procedures and implants, leading him to attend the Midwest Implant Institute during his final year. He continued his development in this area, eventually going on to complete their fellowship program.

Dr. Chad constantly strives to bring more value to his patients by seeking out and studying with numerous world-renowned mentors. He dedicates much of his focus toward dental surgery and comprehensive care, including specific procedures such as: extractions, implants, bone grafting, tissue grafting, sinus augmentation and advanced comprehensive restorative dentistry.

He is also skilled at the placement and restoration of implant dentures, as well as full arch implant supported bridges. Dr. Chad is a certified IV conscious sedation provider and prides himself in staying up to date by regular attendance at continuing education courses. 

Dr. Chad and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Ollom, are excited to serve the central Ohio community through Pure Smiles. When he’s not in the office, Dr. Chad loves spending time with his wife and family, especially his three little girls, Sloane, Sage and Sofie.

Emma Bergman, DDS

Dr. Emma Bergman is passionate about helping patients of all ages achieve healthy, confident smiles through compassionate, personalized dental care. She believes every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and comfortable throughout their visit, and she enjoys building lasting relationships founded on trust and open communication.

As a general dentist, Dr. Bergman provides comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages. Her clinical experience includes caring for children, providing treatment with nitrous oxide, participating in school-based dentistry, and treating medically complex geriatric patients. She is committed to creating individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s unique needs, goals, and overall health.

Dr. Bergman earned her doctor of dental surgery degree (DDS) from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry after receiving her Bachelor of Science in chemistry with a minor in biology from Ohio Dominican University. She is dedicated to lifelong learning and providing high-quality, evidence-based care that helps patients maintain healthy smiles for years to come.

When Dr. Emma is away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, playing with her two dogs, and spending the rest of her time playing Euchre, pickleball, and making sourdough, “filling” her life with “dough” much fun!
