Learn about the health risks and solutions, Thursday, August 14, 2014

Lima, Ohio – August 11, 2014 – Renowned lecturer and Lima native, Wesley Shankland, D.D.S., of the Lima Oral Sleep Center will lead an informative seminar on sleep breathing disorders and the related potential dental sleep medicine treatments and possible solutions. The seminar will be held at the Lima Public Library from 6 PM – 7:30 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2014 and will include light refreshments and a chance to win a door prize.

Dr. Shankland is a practicing dentist at Lima Dental Associates and is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Disciplines. He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Craniofacial Pain.

“The American Sleep Apnea Association estimates that 22 million adults in the U.S. may have obstructive sleep apnea, which can be a potentially life threatening condition. My goal is to try to help the people of Lima, and the surrounding communities, better understand the signs, risks, and possible solutions of this often overlooked condition,” said Dr. Shankland. “People joke about snoring, and spouses may even tease one another, when, in fact, snoring may be risking the person for serious health problems like congestive heart failure,” he added.

Attendance at the seminar is free but reservations are requested; call 419-224-SNOR, or email, Sharon@limadental.net. Attendees may enter a drawing for an Ipod-mini. The Lima Public Library is located at 650 West Market Street, Lima, Ohio, 45801.
