Implant Supported Dentures

Did you know there’s an old Chinese proverb that says “a smile can add 10 years to your life?”

I don’t think there are too many people who would disagree that a smile makes us healthier in life. Unfortunately, there are too many people who resist smiling whether it’s because they are unhappy with the way their smile looks, are missing teeth, or maybe even because their dentures slip and move when they smile.

In the last few decades we have learned how to put teeth back in the mouth and rebuild beautiful smiles to give people confidence so they love their smile, no longer have missing teeth, and those with dentures no longer have to worry about their teeth slipping, moving, and falling out.

boneloss1This model demonstrates what happens to the bone when the teeth are lost. When stimulation is not longer present, the body resorbs the jaw bone. As a result, dentures become ill fitting and uncomfortable. One option to prevent bone resorption is to place dental implants. 4-6 dental implants can be placed into the bone. Once healing occurs the implants will be uncovered and a denture can be made to sit upon the implants. Dependent upon the patient’s need the denture can be removable or permanently screwed onto the implants.

We would love to sit down with anyone interested in securing their dentures. Call any of our 3 locations to schedule a consult today!

Until next time,

Keep smiling, sharing, and caring!
