Christy was born and raised in Clayton, Ohio. She graduated from Northmont High School in 1999. Christy received her associate’s degree in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2008. In 2018, she received her bachelor’s degree in Health Science Education from Kettering College. Christy is a life-long learner. She completes her required continuing education of 24 hours every two years for license renewal but also exceeds the requirement in order to stay relevant and educated in the new research. Christy will be working on her master’s degree, through Central Michigan University, with a degree in Healthcare Administration. Christy teaches dental hygiene students at Sinclair Community College, which has been beneficial to her own learning. She lectures on dental hygiene instrumentation to first-year students and instructs a clinical lab for the first-year students. Christy is also faculty in the second-year clinic. Christy joined our Tipp City practice in 2016. Her favorite part about working in the dentistry field is creating friendships with patients. Christy loves being able to help people and watch them progress with the help of her skills and knowledge. Christy is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association, Ohio Dental Hygiene Association, and Dayton Dental Society. When she is not at work, Christy enjoys being a mother to a 6-year old girl who has her whole heart! They love crafting, watching baking shows, and reading together. Christy is also an avid baker and says some would consider her a “food pusher”, but that’s how she shows her love. She also crochets and enjoys wine paired with cheese. Coming from a family of 9 children, Christy never thought she would be able to go to college. With an underlying notion she wouldn’t be smart enough to attend college and succeed, she realized where there’s a will, there’s a way, and has come to realize that it’s not how smart you are but it’s how determined you are!
