Brush, Floss, Swish, and Smile!

National smile week is a great time to remember how important our smiles are. A healthy smile equals a healthier body.

Some of the most important things to remember in order to keep a healthy smile are to brush and floss 2 x a day for 2 minutes. Dental professionals agree that using a soft bristled manual or electric toothbrush is best. We recommend tilting the toothbrush bristles at a 45 degree angle along the gum line and brushing in short back and forth strokes or a circular motion for best brushing results. Remember to brush the front, back and chewing surfaces of all the teeth using an ADA recommended toothpaste. Don’t forget to clean the tongue . Floss the sides of the teeth with dental floss or a floss aid such as a floss stick. Swish vigorously with a mouth rinse. And finally, don’t forget to visit your dentist 2 x a year for a check up.

  • Help the homeless by giving back
  • Have a smile-off contest
  • Play the laughing game
  • Tell a joke
  • Go to a comedy show
  • Visit an amusement park
